ASSESSMENT

Here are examples of 'How to lose marks' and the National Standards issued for the assessment and grading of texts and multimedia(plus audio) work.

It is useful if you review these so that you have a good idea of what grade your work is likely to receive based upon what you have produced.

How to lose marks easily

  • Not reading the instructions - if the Brief (instructions) require NOTES then do NOT produce a story-style text (especially one that is obviously copied)
  • Copying material from somewhere
  • Not reading your own work and correcting errors BEFORE you submit the work

Remember - all teachers want to give your work 10. What you have to do is produce materials that let them do that!!! So, when you review your own work (which you really should do) and think "Oh no! I have only produced work that is worth 2." Why not amend it BEFORE you submit it for assessment (grading).
